Chris Iott of Mlive.com reports that the Pistons sources has indicated that the team is not involved in the latest revived trade talks between the Denver Nuggets and New Jersey Nets that would send Carmelo Anthony to New Jersey.

The Pistons source says that the team has had no conversations with the New Jersey Nets or the Denver Nuggets about becoming involved in a potential trade with either of the teams. This is unlike a month ago when it seemed all but certain that the Pistons were going to be able to unload Rip Hamilton to the Nets. As you all know the Nets ended up pulling out of these trade talks after Carmelo Anthony was relunctant to sign an extension with the Nets.

Iott mentions that according to Yahoo Sports Denver rejuvinated the talks between New Jersey and the talks seem to be progressing well. Furthermore according to Iott and Yahoo, the package of players involved seems to be scaled down then the original 15 in the original trade last month but would include Anthony and Nets rookie Derrick Favors as well as draft picks.

Like we mentioned the trade that was ready to happen last month involving the Pistons would have sent Rip Hamilton, DaJuan Summers  and former Piston Chauncey Billups to New Jersey while Detroit was set to obtain Troy Murphy and Johan Petro.
