Anyone who is hoping that Randy Moss will become a Lions can probably stop holding their breath.
According to Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com, he believes it is “extremely unlikely” that the Lions pursue Moss who was released today from NFC North rival the Minnesota Vikings. This is all despite the Lions being very mum on any personnel moves and never ruling anything out.
Here is an excerpt from Kowalski’s article…
Schwartz said there are a lot of factors that go into building a team, including the roles that players will have and their presence in the locker room.
“This isn’t fantasy football,” Schwartz said.
There is no question that when Randy Moss wants to be a WR he is still one of the games best. The keyword in that last sentence is wants. Ever since his early days in Minnesota he was seen as a player that would give up on routes and lose his focus through out the season. With all the young players the Lions have and where they’re at as an organization there is no reason to think that it would be any different for Moss on this team. I know it’s an assumption but if Moss was unable to keep his composure on a 6-1 Patriots team how do you think he would act on a 2-5 Lions team?
It’s just a thought.
