The Spartans are heading to the GLI Championship Game against rival Michigan after their 3-1 victory over Michigan Tech Thursday. This is all despite being pretty much dominated on the stat sheet, especially in the shots on goal column where the Huskies were able to put up 46 shots on MSU goaltender Drew Palmisano who made 45 saves in the victory.

Michigan State was able to open up the scoring in the first period after Greg Wolfe scored on the power play to make it 1-0. In the second period, Chris Forfar gave the Spartans some insurance as he made it 2-0.

In the third Ryan Furne was able to get the Huskies within one goal after he made it 2-1 however State iced the game when Brett Perlini added an empty netter to make it 3-1.

The Spartans will now go on to play the Wolverines in final game of the GLI Friday.
