After a big week in pro wrestling that saw good show all around from RAW to NXT, AEW and Smackdown, the Hell in a Cell PPV seemed like an amazing way to wrap up a weekend heading into next week’s draft.

However the biggest fans of the utter shit show that was Hell in a Cell was probably Cody Rhodes and AEW executives.

The PPV though may have been setup for failure as most of the matches was pretty much repackaged bullshit that was already stale at the beginning of the week which resulting in a spaced out, uninterested crowd.

Yet, viewers still had the in-ring debut of the Fiend and a WWE Universal title match with Seth Rollins to look forward too right?

Wrong… in fact, the Fiend/Rollins match, relatively speaking was probably the worst of the night.

And no, it wasn’t the WWE’s lame attempts to put the Fiend over as some type of invincible monster or the way writers mitigated the curb stomps Rollins hit Wyatt with stomp after stomp to no avail.

It was the ending.

After failing to pin the Fiend after repeated head shots via chairs, ladders, etc, Rollins broke out the sledgehammer. However, when Rollins hit the Fiend in the face with the sledgehammer the referee called for the bell resulting in a DQ for the Beast Slayer who retained the title.

Again, fucking lame considering the type of match this was with a no DQ stipulation already set in. Not to mention you already have a precedent factored in to this type of match which as historically speaking yielded some of the most brutal in WWE history, some of which included sledgehammers.

Even after the match was over and the boos rained down, the Fiend applying the mandible claw to Rollins which drew massive amounts of fake blood from the mouth of Seth couldn’t have been more stupid.

But to further put into perspective just how bad the show and main even were the crowd actually broke into an AEW chant as the HIAC mercifully came to an end.

Seriously no one deserved this type of match and you would think heading into it that it was impossible to screw up. I mean you have one of the best in-ring performers in Rollins taking on one of the best entertainers in Bray Wyatt.

Yet the WWE managed to do just that.
