Pistons head coaching candidate Mike Woodson interviewed with the team on Monday concerning the vacant head coaching position. Woodson has been public about wanting to once again work to the Pistons after serving as an assistant coaching with the team during Larry Browns tenure.

“I thought it was a great meeting,” Woodson said Monday night. “I met with Joe and Scott (Perry). All I can do now is wait and see. I thought it was an excellent meeting. I feel good about the job and comfortable with the people in charge, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to come back and meet the owner and take the next step.

“My own gut feeling is something is going to happen after the draft.”

After spending the one season with Pistons in 2004, Woodson moved onto Atlanta where he served as the teams head coach up until last season when he was let go by the team after being swept out of the playoffs by Orlando.

Woodson has also interviewed for the Houston Rockets job but has stated that his goal is to become the next head coach of the Pistons.
