After their 4-2 victory over Tampa Bay Wednesday night, the Wings made a roster move placing Patrick Eaves (broken jaw) on the short-term injured reserve and calling up Chris Conner from Grand Rapids of the AHL.

Eaves is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks.

Conner will join the Wings on their three game road trip starting Friday in Buffalo, then moving to Colorado on Sunday and concluding Tuesday night in St. Louis.

The 27-year-old Conner is a Livonia native who currently leads the Griffins with 23 points (seven goals, sixteen assists) in only 20 games. Conner also has 16 goals and 24 assists in 139 career NHL games with Dallas and Pittsburgh.
