The Lions front office played a cruel, heartless joke on Lions fans everywhere when they announced that they would be getting cheerleaders for the upcoming 2012 campaign.
Of course with it being April 1st the announcement which was made of the Detroit Free Press’ website was immediately taken in as a complete hoax.
However what may be the most disappointing thing about the “announcement” is it pretty much signifies there are no plans for the immediate future that the Lions will be employing a full-time cheerleading squad.
Oh well. I guess we’ll have to continue to settle for the cheerleaders in the stands as opposed to the ones on the field.
