It’s refreshing to hear something like this from your team’s president. Scott Harris isn’t going out there saying the Tigers aren’t going to spend money this offseason, he’s simply saying that you need to compliment the young guys with some proven talent. That’s the recipe for success, typically, for any good team. You develop your young talent and surround them with adequate pieces.

If you think otherwise, you end up in the same position the Tigers have been in the past several seasons. Zero position players in the system and you’re paying a guy like Javy Baez with a .593 OPS over $20M a season.
