The Tigers may be holding onto Matthew Boyd however, closer Shane Greene still seems to be very much on the table as talks with the Atlanta Braves have reportedly intensified according to Jon Morosi.

Shane Greene is currently in the midst of All-Star season with Detroit converting 22 saves with a .87 WHIP and 1.18 ERA.

UPDATE (3:37 pm ET): According to Buster Olney, the Braves have some to terms on a trade to acquire Shane Greene from the Tigers. This is pending physicals and it’s unclear who is going the other way in the deal.

🔄 Tigers receive a prospect and Minor-Leauger for Greene

UPDATE (4:06 pm ET): Heading back to Detroit is LHP Joey Wentz — the seventh rated prospect in the Braves’ deep system — and minor league OF/2B Travis Demeritte who was selected to the Triple-A All-Star Game this season.

Wentz (21) was taken 40th overall by the Braves back in 2016 while appearing in 20 games for the Braves’ Double-A affiliate. His current record stands at 5-8 with a 4.72 ERA, 1.311 WHIP with 8.7 SO9.

Meanwhile Dermeritte (24) has been tearing it up in Triple-A slashing at .286/.387/.558 with an OPS of .994.
