The Tigers and Cubs pulled off a deadline buzzer beater focused around outfielder Nicholas Castellanos.

Heading to Chicago is the Detroit outfielder whose been rumored to be on the move all season while heading back to the Tigers are pitching prospects Paul Richan (16th overall in the Cubs’ system) and Alex Lange (23rd overall prospect in the Cubs’ system).

Lange — who was a first round pick for the Cubs in 2017 — had fallen out of favor in Chicago after posting a pretty stellar career with LSU. Last season he struck out 101 batters while posting a 3.74 ERA over the course of 120.1 innings. However, Lange has fallen on hard times this year as his ERA has skyrocketed to 7.36 over 11 starts.

Meanwhile Richan has shown some promise this season after an earlier dip in his velocity.
