Given what was out there, hiring a 76-year-old Tony La Russa was a shit move, to begin with for the White Sox. Because reasons that I’m sure would include wE dOn’T wAnT tO hIrE cHeAtErS lIkE a.J. hInCh AnD aLeX cOrA and that the Hall of Famer is a friend of chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.

Great…

Then all of a sudden we learned that La Russa was arrested back in February for a DUI in Phoenix where he blew a 0.095 — 0.115 above the legal limit while pulling the “do you know who I am” card as he flashed his World Series ring with the arresting officers.

In fact, La Russa was charged for the misdemeanor DUI the day before he was hired by the White Sox, who finally addressed the situation today.

“As Tony La Russa’s attorney said in his statement, Tony deserves all the assumptions and protections granted to everyone in a court of law, especially while this is a pending matter. Once his case reaches resolution in the courts, we will have more to say. The White Sox understand the seriousness of these charges.”

My god… Now A.J. Hinch is managing in the division with the Tigers while the Red Sox put any shit aside and re-hired Alex Cora. The White Sox are too good with too much on the line to be dealing with this shit.
