The NBA may be the next League to totally ban fans from attending games amid the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA’s Board of Governors came to a general consensus that the League move forward with their games but in empty arenas to avoid the spread of COVID-19. Commissioner Adam Silver is “expected to move in that direction,” Woj writes with a decision likely coming Thursday.

The NBA’s Board of Governors shared a consensus on Wednesday to continue the season playing games without fans in arenas amid the coronavirus crisis, and Commissioner Adam Silver is expected to move in that direction with a decision on Thursday, sources tell ESPN.

In other areas of the World, professional Leagues have already taken steps to curb the continued spread of the coronavirus including playing in empty stadiums. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors have become the first team in the NBA to announce that they would not admit fans into their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday. This decision from Golden State also comes in the wake of the San Francisco Health Office prohibiting events where 1,000 or more people assemble.
