For five years Central Michigan dominated one of the biggest football rivalries in the state of Michigan. For the past half decade Central Michigan Michigan seemed to have it’s way with Western Michigan whether it be in Mt. Pleasant or Kalamazoo.
That was until this year.
Saturday, the Broncos got plenty of redemption as they destroyed the Chippewas 44-14 from Waldo Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Broncos QB Alex Carder had a big day throwing for 355 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target of the day Jordan White caught a career-high 13 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns. The defense was just as good allowing Central to score only one touchdown which could be considered garbage points since the touchdown came when the game was well out of reach.
“I’ve been here for five years and I haven’t beaten them and I came back for a sixth season for one reason, to beat Central,” White said.
Central QB Ryan Radcliff threw for 215 yards however his longest pass was only for 25 yards. The Broncos were also able to hold the entire Chippewa ground game to 147 yards.
“We definitely have to run more,” Enos said. “We just need to play better to enable us to play with better football teams.”
