Yeah… Brad Ausmus may not be cut out to be a Major League Baseball manager.

Monday, the Angels fired their skipper after just one season with the team that yielded a 72-90 record.

Okay… so it’s probably unfair to pin everything on Ausmus when it comes to this past season for the Angels that was very much an emotional and physical rollercoaster to say the very least. Big time injuries which included Mike Trout certainly didn’t help matters then there was the shocking death of Tyler Skaggs which you really can’t make any fair judgement on what kind of emotional toll that’ll take on the entirety of the clubhouse.

However, Ausmus’ fate was probably sealed the minute it was announced that Joe Maddon wouldn’t be brought back to manage the Chicago Cubs because after Ausmus, Billy Eppler’s ass is most certainly on the line. Making a move by bringing Maddon back into the organization will definitely buy Eppler some time.
