Now that the NFL lockout is behind us, the Lions can now really start thinking about who they want to add via free agency.

The Lions go into the 2011 season a young and upcoming team but with still their fair share of holes to fill.

Who should that first free agent signing be for the Lions be?

ESPN’s Brian McIntyre believes it should be CB Johnathan Joseph of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Here is what he has to say about him and the Lions situation…

After ranking 32nd in pass defense DVOA in 2008 and 2009 (explained here), the Lions’ defense improved to 19th last season. To take that next step forward, Detroit should look to sign the free agent Joseph, a physical corner with solid cover skills who fits perfectly in Jim Schwartz’s defense.

Furthermore Lance Zierlein of the Houston Chronicle believes that Johnathan Joseph is the target for the Detroit Lions.

Let the free agent frenzy in the NFL begin!
