Former Penn State defensive coordinator and the man in the center of all the Penn State fallout, Jerry Sandusky took part in a phone interview with NBC’s Bob Costas during Rock Center with Brian Williams on MSNBC.

NBC did release some quotes from the interview which came to us via TheBigLead.com

When asked by Costas, “Are you a pedophile,” Sandusky responded “No.”

“I could say that I have done some of those things. I have horsed around with kids I have showered after workouts. I have hugged them and I have touched their legs without intent of sexual contact,” said Sandusky.

When pressed by Costas about what if anything was Sandusky willing to concede that he’d done was wrong, Sandusky said, “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids.”

And as the days go on, more and more is starting to unravel from State College, PA…

  • Apparently according to PennLive.com, Jerry Sandusky is still collecting a $58,000 annual pension from the University. The same can be said about dismissed administrator Gary Schultz. This is pretty sad considering the unemployment rate in this country.
  • Not reporting child rape is still no grounds for you losing your job at Penn State as well. Assistant coach Mike McQueary who actually witnessed Sandusky raping a child in a Penn State shower and subsequently did nothing to stop it besides run home to his dad is still on paid administrative leave. Hell, I wish I could keep my job and get paid not to show up. UPDATE: A source told ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi that Mike McQueary stopped Jerry Sandusky’s alleged sexual assault in 2002.
  • District Judge Leslie Dutchcot, the same judge who released Sandusky on $100,000 bail was a volunteer of The Second Mile, the charity Sandusky founded that was supposed to help troubled young boys but eventually just fed Sandusky new victims.
  • Former Penn State linebacker (and current Carolina Panther) Dan Connor was suspended by Joe Paterno back in 2005 due to him making prank phone calls to a retired Penn State football coach. It was speculated that Connor made those calls to Sandusky however according to Deadspin, Connor says that he didn’t make those calls to Sandusky and it was later revealed that the calls were actually made to former coach Joe Sarra.
