According to Tom Kowalski of Mlive.com who cites other reports, the Detroit Lions will open training camp for the 2011 season this Thursday with the facilities in Allen Park opening it’s doors to veterans under contract on Tuesday.

This news comes as the NFL owners and players reportedly agree to a new collective bargaining agreement with a player vote expected later in the day on Monday.

Kowalski goes on saying that trades can be executed Tuesday as well as the signing of undrafted rookie free agents. Teams can also begin negotiating with free agents on Tuesday however will not be able to sign them to a contract until 6PM ET on Friday.

All of this is still unofficial but stay tuned to The Majors Detroit and TMSNX for more as it becomes available.
