In a report by Mickey McCanham of WXYZ Channel 7 in Detroit, Tom Wilson has indicated that the Ilitch family is still interested in buying the Detroit Pistons from current owner Karen Davidson.
According to the report, the Ilitch family is still in a legal non-disclosure period in their effort to complete a deal.
Wilson made these comments Wednesday morning during the unveiling of the new Cobo Center renovations in downtown Detroit.
Back in November, Ilitch Holdings had a 30 day exclusive negotiating period with Palace Sports and Entertainment. A deal between Ilitch and Karen Davidson was never reached because Ilitch believed the price was inflated.
Platinum Equity and Michigan native Tom Gores also had the 30 day negotiating period last month which has since expired. It is unclear right now if negotiations are still ongoing with Gores or if they have concluded with no deal being reached.
