Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock says there will be no lineup changes tonight when the Wings take on the San Jose Sharks in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. This is according to Ansar Khan of Mlive.com.

What this means is veteran forward Mike Modano may have played in his final game.

“Each summer I think to myself that I could muster up one more year and try to have a nice, positive fun year, something I can be happy about and content with leaving at that point,” Modano said. “But I’m still trying to find it for three years. Maybe it’s not there.”

Modano, who has been a healthy scratch for the majority of the playoffs will be one yet again tonight. Drew Miller will also be a healthy scratch for the second consecutive game.

Babcock says it was a tough decision…

“I recruited him hard (in the summer),” Babcock said. “Our plan for Mike Modano and what ended up happening, that’s just the way it goes. If you go back to last summer at this time, we thought he was going to really be able to help our team. We didn’t plan on the skate hitting his wrist and the way things went (missing three months after surgery). Does that make you think any less of the guy? Absolutely not. Does it make it hard? Yes.”

Brian Rafalski and Johan Franzen didn’t skate this morning but will play tonight.

Sharks head coach Todd McLellan said he will not have any lineup changes tonight.
