According to Vincent Goodwill of the Detroit News, the Detroit Pistons will offer point guard Rodney Stuckey a $3.8 million dollar qualifying offer this week. Monday was the first day teams in the NBA could start doing this with their restricted free agents. The team would’ve had until June 30th to make an offer before Stuckey become a restricted free agent.

Goodwill goes on to say that if a team were to sign Stuckey during free agency the Pistons would have a week to match the offer.

I still maintain that it would be a mistake to bring Stuckey back due to his on the court attitude that the fact that he doesn’t play like a true point. He is selfish and the Pistons already have a logjam at the shooting guard position so switching him to that position really wouldn’t be a viable option.

Goodwill finishes saying that Stuckey, who was the 14 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft averaged 15.5 points and a career-high 5.2 assists this past season.
