In what very well be the pick of the draft the Pistons selected Kentucky point guard Brandon Knight with the 8th overall pick. With Bismack Biyombo and Tristan Thompson both off the board, Brandon Knight surprisingly fell the the Pistons at eight leaving Joe Dumars no choice but to draft Knight.

As a freshman last year with Kentucky, Knight averaged 33 minutes and 17.3 points per game. He was also good for 4 assists and 3 rebounds per game. He joins a Pistons team that is in full rebuild mode after missing the playoffs two straight seasons, firing head coach John Keuster this off-season and getting new ownership in Tom Gores.

There was some speculation that the Pistons may move Knight later on considering he has top 5 pick value and he may not be the best fit for the Pistons. However, although Knight isn’t the purest point guard out there he was extremely value at the 8th pick. It is also being reported that Pistons team president Joe Dumars said that we are gonna put the ball in his (Knights) hands.
