It was a busy day in one of the more anticipated days during the college football offseason. Missouri made a huge splash landing the nations no. 1 recruit in Dorial Green-Beckham while Alabama secured the consensus no. 1 class.

Here’s a quick rundown of some of the other top stories from around the country on National Signing Day…

Stanford cleans up

Stanford added to their already formable roster today by adding five-star offensive line targets Kyle Murphy and Andrus Peat to pair with No. 33 overall four-star Joshua Garnett and three other four-star offensive linemen. In addition to this the Cardinal also added five-star defensive tackle Aziz Shittu and Barry Sanders Jr. which propelled their recruiting class into the top ten.

Something Stanford and Florida State fans are going to have to keep an eye on is the status of five-star Florida State verbal commitment Jameis Winston. Winston didn’t sign his letter of intent to FSU yet but reiterated he is “still a Nole,”. It’s important to keep in mind that Stanford heavily recruited Winston and you have to wonder whether or not he is rethinking his commitment.

Florida State looking good with their front seven

Despite Jameis Winston signing his letter of intent… yet, the Seminoles may have assembled the best and deepest front seven in all of college football. Today Florida State added Mario Edwards and Eddie Goldman, the no. 3 and no. 7 recruits in the country respectively.

Notre Dame gets flipped… by Houston

The supposed national program in Notre Dame got flipped today when wide receiver Deontay Greenberry, Rivals’ No. 49 overall recruit decided he would commit to Houston rather than the Fighting Irish.

I thought Brian Kelly was changing Notre Dame into a national power once again?

Hurricanes making a rebound?

After a 2011 filled with plenty of controversy and clout from the NCAA Al Golden may have the Hurricanes in a pretty good spot roster wise when all the negative spotlight passes. Miami (FL) received a letter of intent from Tracy Howard, the no. 13 overall recruit and five-star hometown prospect.

Georgia waiting for the co-sign

Five-star linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons picked Georgia today however he still needs to sign his letter of intent. It’s being reported that he needs a co-signer to sign his letter and the rumor is the co-signer isn’t happy with Clemons’ decision with Georgia.

Huskies get a big dog

Washington secured the commitment from no. 4 overall defensive back Shaq Thompson.
