After a season in which Tebow went above and beyond everyone’s expectations despite having a mediocre season at best, John Elway named him the starter going into next season.

And Tebow was certainly deserving of it.

Aside from playing in a bad division many saw Tebow as the driving force behind the Broncos’ run to the playoffs and their wild card weekend win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, in spite of the lucky mediocrity, John Elway has come out and said that the team will look into getting another QB during the offseason (via SI’s FanNation)

“We will be in the market to find more quarterbacks,” said John Elway, the Broncos’ executive vice president of football operations. “That’s our approach with Tim being our starter as we go to training camp, that we’ll look at free agency and the draft.”

Now this all but confirms what we all knew about the Broncos’ QB situation. Even though Tebow was named the ‘starter’ John Elway is going to do everything he can to move him out of the starting role.

I guess I can’t say I don’t blame him. I’m still not convinced that Tebow will be successful long-term option for the Broncos with his college type game.
