Michigan State received their fourth commitment for their 2012 class after Ohio QB Tyler O’Conner verbally committed to the University on Monday.

According to Greg Johnson of the Grand Rapids Press, O’Connor threw for more than 2,500 yards and 27 touchdowns last season for Lima Catholic Central who finished 12-2 and was a state semifinalist team. O’Connor also had offers from Boston College, Bowling Green, Louisville and West Virginia but eventually narrowed his choices down to Northwestern and Michigan State eventually choosing Michigan State.

“(Coach Mark Dantonio) was very excited and I was glad I trusted him and the team,” O’Connor told Spartan Tailgate. “He said they were ending any other communication with other QB’s and looked forward to getting more recruits along my side.”

In addition to his arm, the 6-foot-2 O’Connor also managed to rush for 470 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
