Welp… at least the Spartans made it to the Final Four. You can’t take that away from them. But this loss to Texas Tech hurts, notably because everyone had a genuine feeling that this was Michigan State’s year, especially after that Elite 8 win over Duke last weekend.

Instead, Kenny Goins was held pointless and 0-4 from downtown, Cassius Winston didn’t have a game changing night and the Spartans were double-digits in turnovers with 10 total. Certainly not their worst but when you’re facing a team like Texas Tech who has the best defense in the entire Country you’re not going to have many prime opportunities and Michigan State simply couldn’t get that opportunity going for themselves, especially in the second half when Texas Tech stretched their lead to double-digits.

It’ll now be Texas Tech, who disposed of both Michigan teams in the Tournament facing off against Virginia in the finals Monday night.
