Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford says he is 100% healthy after missing all but three games last season with two different shoulder injuries. In fact Stafford claimed that he was healthy enough to do push-ups and other fitness drills during an appearance at 4 Detroit area schools where he among other Lions talked about the importance of eating right and remaining active. This is according to Brian VanOchten of the Grand Rapids Press.

“It feels good,” Stafford said of his right shoulder. “I’m throwing with (Lions second-round draft pick) Titus (Young), Calvin (Johnson), some of the guys from Georgia. I’m just working out, throwing as much as I can, playing a little bit of golf. That’s about it. I had to rehab for a long time to get this back where it needs to be.

“But I feel great.”

The hardest thing for Stafford right now seems to be waiting for the NFL lockout to end…

“You know as much as I know. I’m almost positive it’s going to get done,” Stafford said of a new labor agreement between owners and players. “We’re going to have football. There’s too much at stake not to have football.

“We’re all ready to get out there and start playing again. We understand the season is right around the corner. We gotta get going,” he said. “(The frustrating part) is just the unknown. That’s the biggest thing for us.”

After the appearance today, Stafford was 1 of 30 other Lions players that took part in a player organized practice at Detroit Country Day. According to various reports Stafford looked good and sharp during today’s workout. Stafford has also been refining a chemistry with Calvin Johnson as he has been working out with him on multiple occasions during this off-season and beginning to develop a chemistry with newly drafted receiver Titus Young.
