Stafford

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Rams could make a run at Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford this offseason as the Detroit signal-caller considering Los Angeles (Rams) a “viable contender” in the market for him.

With the Lions and Stafford mutually agreeing to part ways and the Rams being uncommitted to Jared Goff, Detroit and LA seem like potentially feasible trade partners going forward. Trading Goff may be the best option too for the Rams to avoid a $65.5 million dead cap hit if cut, whether Goff is included in any trade for Stafford is still yet to be determined, not to mention there’s no indication if the Lions are even interested in the 27-year-old who still has four years left on his current deal.

Stafford on the other hand still has two-years remaining on his current deal after completing 64.2% of his passes for 4,084 yards and 26 touchdowns with 10 interceptions this past season.
