The Lions returned to the practice field Wednesday as they prepare for the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday at the Metrodome, a place they haven’t won at since 1997.

As they hit the practice field, the team had 9 players that did not participate in the open practice. Here is a list of those players…

DE Cliff Avril (undisclosed), WR Calvin Johnson (ankle), LB DeAndre Levy (undisclosed), TE Brandon Pettigrew (shoulder), DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (scheduled rest), WR Rashied Davis (undisclosed), S Louis Delmas (hip pointer), DT Nick Fairley (foot) and OT Jason Fox (foot).

Avril, Calvin Johnson, Levy, Pettigrew, Vanden Bosch and Delmas are all expected to play this weekend.

Lions sign WR Tim Toone

The Lions have signed WR Tim Toone to the teams practice squad. In order to make room for him the Lions released former Michigan Wolverine CB Donovan Warren.

This is Toone’s second season with the Lions’ practice squad after being drafted as 2010’s “Mr. Irrelevant”.
