Martin Mayhew and the Detroit Lions may be looking to make a big push come draft day Thursday night.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Lions and the Bills are two teams looking to trade into the top five of the Draft with one of the two executives saying they’re looking for a bargain

Kevin Patra of NFL.com also touched on the issue piggybacking off of Rapoport saying that the target for both teams is Jacksonville’s pick at No. 3 overall:

The stimulating part is not that the Bills and Lions want to move up. For much of the elongated draft process, they’ve been sniffing around prospects — such as receivers Sammy Watkinsand Mike Evans — likely to be gone when they pick at No. 9 and No. 10, respectively.

What Rapoport added that was interesting is one executive saidthat, as of now, the two teams are looking for a bargain to move up.

The focus has been on moving to the No. 3 pick, held by theJacksonville Jaguars, Rapoport said.

In addition according to Rapoport and his discussions with Sammy Watkins, it looks as though the Lions are making a huge effort to trade up for the services of the Clemson wideout.

All this comes a day after Lions GM Martin Mayhew held a pre-draft press conference addressing a number of issues including rumors swirling around potential trade rumors involving Ndamukong Suh. Martin denied the rumor saying that contract extensions are ongoing with the defensive tackle but you can’t help but wonder if a trade up from 10 to 3 (which by all account isn’t easy) would involve Suh who is in the final year of his deal.
