Last week the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed RFA DE George Johnson to an offer sheet sending into motion a timeline in which the Lions, his current team could match. However instead of matching the offer sheet the Lions are disputing it according to Paula Pasche of The Oakland Press, something the League and the team seem to be in agreement with.

So with things not so cut and dry, an impartial arbitrator will now look over the terms of the offer and come to a ruling within 10 days. After that the Lions will reportedly have two days to either match it or walk away and get no compensation since Johnson was tendered at the lowest level and entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie.

Originally the Bucs signed Johnson to a three-year, $9M deal.
