According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Detroit Lions have claimed safety Chris Harris (29) off waivers from the Chicago Bears, keeping him in the NFC North.

Harris was released by the Bears earlier in the week after he was seeking a trade out of Chicago.

Harris fell out of favor with the Bears coaching staff during the Monday night game on October 10th when he was benched in a loss to the Lions.

Harris can get some revenge on his former team when the Lions travel to Soldier Field on November 13th.

Harris had a career season with the Bears last year recording 70 tackles and a career-high 5 interceptions that he returned for 69 yards. Furthermore during  week 12, he was the first player of the season to intercept a Michael Vick pass as he picked off Vick in Chicago’s end zone to help the Bears beat the Eagles 31-26. Following the 2010 season, Harris was selected as an All-Pro for the first time in his career.
