According to David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press, former Michigan State point guard Korie Lucious has told the newspaper that he will transfer to Iowa State.

Mayo says that Lucious also told the the Des Moines Register that he will transfer to Iowa State, sit out next season, then use his final year of NCAA eligibility to play for IU in the Big 12 Conference.

“It’s the best playing opportunity for me to get to where I eventually want to go,” Lucious told the newspaper. “Coach (Fred) Hoiberg has connections – a lot of connections – to the NBA.”

Lucious was dismissed from the Spartans for unspecified violations on January 25th, two days before MSU’s loss to Michigan. He played in a total of 18 games with Michigan State and becomes the second former Spartan to transfer to Iowa State. The first being Chris Allen who was dismissed from the MSU program last summer but will be eligible to play for the Cyclones next season.
