Tigers rookie outfielder Brennan Boesch is still marred in a slump that has sent his once ridiculously high batting average into a tail spin after the All Star Break. According to James Schmehl of Mlive.com by way of the Detroit Free Press mentions that Tigers OF/DH Johnny Damon has been offering some suggestions to Boesch to try and help him break out of his slump and get back on track. First Damon noticed “a little hitch through the hitting zone” and offered up more tips…
“You don’t want him thinking too much after an out, because every time you make an out you’ve made a mistake, and it’s a free fall from there. He just needs to make an adjustment with his swing through the hitting zone,” Damon told the Free Press.
Brennan Boesch is going to be an important piece as the Tigers finish out the season. They NEED him to come around not only to help the team end it’s own slide but reassure the Tigers that he could be an everyday corner outfielder for the team next season. Having Boesch and his contract be a regular would again save the Tigers more money that they can devot to other positions like perhaps a starting pitcher, catcher or shortstop.
