Former Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard has joined the Red Wings’ Bally Sports broadcast team for the upcoming 2022-23 season the Network announced Wednesday.
Howard, who retired in January of 2021 after Detroit declined to re-sign the veteran netminder to a new contract, replaces another former goaltender in Manon Rhéaume who served on the broadcast team last season.
Other than Howard, the rest of the broadcast team is pretty much intact with the return of Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond in the booth with John Keating, Larry Murphy, and Chris Osgood in the studio. It’s also presumed that Osgood will fill in as a color analyst for Redmond on certain road dates.
