It’s been a dark year for the world of professional wrestling. So far this year, we’ve unfortunately seen the deaths of Bruno Sammartino, Nikolai Volkoff, Vader and Brian Lawler among others. And today, sadly we added Jim Neidhart to that list.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff, the 63-year-old Neidhart hit his head after falling at his home. Neidhart however was unable to recover from his injuries and died as a result in Wesley Chapel, Florida. No foul play is suspected according to the report.

TMZ also reported that emergency personnel were called at around 6:30 AM about a man having seizures and convulsions.

Another TMZ report added that his wife, Elizabeth Neidhart, told investigators that Jim was having difficulty sleeping, so he went to change the thermostat, then “turned weirdly as if he were about to dance” and “fell towards the wall and ground.” Elizabeth then called 911, telling them that Jim was having a seizure. She said that his last seizure was December 2017 and he had been taking medication for it.

A member of the Hart Family dynasty, Neidhart’s pro wrestling career stretched all the way back to the 1970’s when he was a member of Stu Hart’s Stampede Wrestling promotion. When Stu Hart eventually sold it to Vince McMahon, Neidhart’s career really took off as a member of the iconic Hart Foundation tag team that included off and members such as Brett Hart, Owen Hart and the British Bulldog. While with Brett Hart, Neidhart went on to win two WWF Tag Team titles.

Neidhart is also the father of current WWE superstar and former Women’s Champion Natalya who released the following on her Father’s death earlier today.
