According to Tom Markowski of the Detroit News, former Saginaw blue chip and Tennessee Vols wide receiver DeAnthony Arnett has chosen to transfer to Michigan State.
Arnett was granted his release from the Volunteers football program earlier in the week after he expressed his desire to be closer to his ailing father in Saginaw.
Arnett announced Wednesday night that he had come to a decision to attend Michigan State University over Michigan and Notre Dame.
“After consideration by (the) University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Notre Dame,” Arnett began his text/email, “I have decided that the best decision for my family and myself would be to attend Michigan State University. I want to thank all the schools that showed support during this trying time. I look forward to continue my education and football career at Michigan State with Coach Mark Dantonio and the Spartans.”
The 6-1, 175 pound Arnett had 24 receptions for the Volunteers in his freshman season last year. If he is able to play right away in 2012 it would certainly solve some of the holes left by B.J. Cunningham, Keith Nichol and Keshawn Martin who are all seniors.
