According to Terry Foster of the Detroit News, former Pistons power forward John “the Spider” Salley is interested in joining the Pistons organization.

His job title? Player Development, Strength and Conditioning Assistant.

Foster writes that Salley lives a vegan lifestyle and believes he can help solve the Pistons injuries and mental breakdowns going on with the players and coaching staff. Former teammate Shaquille O’Neal reportedly use call Sally the “witch doctor” for his ability to diagnose aches and pains then provide solutions to treat them.

“I told him that if you listen to me you will be able to play like Kareem (Abdul-Jabbar) and Robert Parish until you are 42. You see he is 39 and barely holding on,” Salley said Saturday night, while attending the Pistons-Pacers game at The Palace. “You can play for as long as you want if you fix your Ferrari.”

“I went through NBA depression,” Salley said. “When I was a player, I went through depression. I went through NBA depression when I retired. It is not talked about as a serious thing. But you are a thoroughbred. The same thing happens to a thoroughbred. When they are done you sell them for $300 and sell them for food in different countries. It is like a baseball player. You go through slumps. You go through depression because it is so redundant. They run you until you break down.”

Sally won two NBA titles with the Pistons during the Bad Boy era. He was also the first player in NBA history to win a championship with three different teams (Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles Lakers)
