An all womenโ€™s PPV is making its way to the WWE.

That was the โ€˜big announcementโ€™ teased heading into tonightโ€™s Monday Night Raw as Triple-H, Stephanie McMahon and Vince McMahon confirmed the PPV with the entire WWE roster standing at the end of the stage.

Michael Cole later announced the PPV will be called โ€˜Evolutionโ€˜ and take place from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Colosseum on Sunday, October 28. During the event the Raw, Smackdown and NXT womenโ€™s titles will be defended while also featuring the finals of the Mae Young Classic.

Since the womenโ€™s โ€˜revolutionโ€™ a few years ago, the WWE has made strides to expand female professional wrestling within itโ€™s own brand. This included the establishment of two womenโ€™s titles per brand, an all womenโ€™s Royal Rumble match, the Mae Young Classic and a womenโ€™s Money in the Bank match. And although the initial โ€˜revolutionโ€™ has failed in someways to better establish female super stars (because lets face it, the WWE has extremely overplayed their Sasha Banks hand) itโ€™s extremely important for the biggest pro wrestling federation in the World to continue to recognized and sanction these types of events for women. Because simply put, if the WWE doesnโ€™t take itโ€™s place in helping grow womenโ€™s professional wrestling beyond what it use to be itโ€™s never going to go anywhere.
