An all womenโs PPV is making its way to the WWE.
That was the โbig announcementโ teased heading into tonightโs Monday Night Raw as Triple-H, Stephanie McMahon and Vince McMahon confirmed the PPV with the entire WWE roster standing at the end of the stage.
Michael Cole later announced the PPV will be called โEvolutionโ and take place from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Colosseum on Sunday, October 28. During the event the Raw, Smackdown and NXT womenโs titles will be defended while also featuring the finals of the Mae Young Classic.
Since the womenโs โrevolutionโ a few years ago, the WWE has made strides to expand female professional wrestling within itโs own brand. This included the establishment of two womenโs titles per brand, an all womenโs Royal Rumble match, the Mae Young Classic and a womenโs Money in the Bank match. And although the initial โrevolutionโ has failed in someways to better establish female super stars (because lets face it, the WWE has extremely overplayed their Sasha Banks hand) itโs extremely important for the biggest pro wrestling federation in the World to continue to recognized and sanction these types of events for women. Because simply put, if the WWE doesnโt take itโs place in helping grow womenโs professional wrestling beyond what it use to be itโs never going to go anywhere.
