Last week new Michigan head coach Brady Hoke told a Grand Rapids radio station that QB Denard Robinson without question would return to the team next season.
There was just one problem, Robinson still wasn’t commenting on his future at the University.
However today in an interview that has appeared on the school’s official athletic website, Denard Robinson confirmed that he will return to the University of Michigan for the 2011 season. In the interview Robinson did say that he did contemplate transferring after Rich Rodriguez was fired but after consulting with his parents, brother and high school coach he decided to stay saying that his teammates are his family.
“Rich Rod was one of the few coaches that gave me a chance to play as a quarterback on the next level,” Robinson said in comments obtained by the Associated Press ahead of the posting of the interview.
“This is my family — my home now.”
Last week Brady Hoke mentioned that the offense will cater to Robinson’s talents. In conjunction, Robinson says that he is eager to learn from Hoke and learn the new offense.
