Free agent linebacker Keith Bullock recently named the Lions as a preferred destination for himself. This is something that really has been know for a few months now so what he told Detroit Free Press writer Dave Birkett really wasn’t anything new…

“They’re a team where, one, I’m familiar with their coaching staff,” Bulluck said. “That’s one, but two, you watch those guys play last year, they were in every game that they played in. They’re in every game that they play in, so they’re a team that’s right there, and I know the type of player that I am.”

It’s still not really known whether or not the feeling is mutual and I’m sure we won’t know exactly how the Lions feel until the lockout is over which can be coming anytime now. What’s interesting in all of this is what Lions beat write Tom Kowalski said via Twitter early Thursday morning…

“Lions’ philosophy in FA is not to sign guys you are immediately trying to upgrade … it happens, but not the plan.”
