So last week, LeBron James ready to be a good teammate and welcome Anthony Davis to the Lakers by gifting the Brow with his No. 23 jersey.
How sweet right?
Well, that has all been put on hold when it was realized that LeBron switching from his No. 23 would have cost ‘tens of millions of dollars’ according to Darren Rovell. The reason behind this — again according to Rovell — would be due to either LeBron or the Lakers having to buy the entire inventory for King James No. 23 from Nike which in the end just didn’t ‘make financial sense’.
So since the Lakers weren’t going to go off and blow a shitton of money over a number, a disappointed AD had to improvise. That’s when he turned to NBA 2K where he was able to get some visuals before settling on his old elementary school number of ‘3’.
Anyways, people are giving LeBron and the Lakers shit over this.
