Lions

Ameer Abdullah‘s 2016 season for the Lions looks like it’ll be officially ending shortly.

According to CBS Sports (via Mlive.com), the Lions will likely opt to activate another player currently on the IR which would effectively end the second-year back’s season as he continues to rehabilitate from a foot injury suffered during week two.

That other player is expected to be linebacker Jon Bostic who’s currently working his way back after dealing with a foot injury of his own. Unlike Bostic, Abdullah has yet to participate in any type of running drills indicating he’s likely further away in his recovery from torn ligaments in his foot.

The Lions’ need at linebacker also seems a lot more pressing given uncertainty surrounding DeAndre Levy and their trade with New England last week that sent Kyle Van Noy to the Patriots.
