Tua Tagovailoa is going pro.
The now-former Alabama QB ended the speculation Monday announcing he would enter the NFL Draft despite a hip injury that ended his 2019 season early.
I don’t think the announcement is surprising to anyone. Tua maybe did a little second-guessing on whether he was going to go pro after 2019 when he went down with the hip injury but for the most part he was probably pretty set on his plans when last season started.
Any of that doubt was probably dispelled too when he got another positive injury update when he made a visit to New York to get his hip checked out.
Tua is expected to go top-10 in the upcoming draft and could go as early as five overall to the Miami Dolphins. If it doesn’t happen there then the Chargers could pull the trigger on him at six, the Panthers at seven or even the Jaguars at nine. Either way, it would be pretty shocking if he’s still around past 10.
