Packers WR Greg Jennings questions whether or not Lions can maintain their composure for an entire season

Green Bay WR Greg Jennings was recently on “NFL Total Access” on the NFL Network to discuss the offseason for his own team as well as other division rivals including the Detroit Lions.

Jennings was asked what his biggest concern was regarding the up and coming Lions and his answer was pretty simple…

“Can they maintain their composure, both on the field and off the field?” Jennings responded. “They’re a very talented team, but they have struggles on the field containing their composure, and definitely, the things we’ve heard of, them being in the media with off-the-field problems and off-the-field issues. Can they maintain their composure? Can they be a professional ball club for 16, 17, 18 solid weeks throughout the regular season?”

And someone who was very familiar with the on the field and off the field composure loss, Warren Sapp who is an NFL Network analyst agreed with what Jennings had to say…

“The Detroit Lions remind me of the 1997 Tampa Bay Buccaneers — 10-6 was the record, first time we’d been to the playoffs in a long time, fighting all those years of just playing bad football, then all of a sudden city was patting us on the back,” Sapp said. “They were like, ‘Good job guys! You went to the playoffs and won a game!’ The Lions haven’t even won a game, but the city is celebrating. I want to see how they come back with that same hunger because when you haven’t won anything, you haven’t done anything. “

Despite Jennings being on the rival Packers you really can’t disagree with what he had to say. On field discipline has been one of the biggest problems during the Jim Schwartz era and the Lions will be unable to take that next step if those problems continue.
