The Lions’ view on their detractors… “!@#$ Them”

After dropping three of their last four games, the Lions have taken on an us against the world mentality according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.

This can be seen after receivers coach Shawn Jefferson met with players at midfield prior to today’s practice and ended the huddle with chant: “Fuck them”.

“Absolutely” it set the tone, quarterback Matthew Stafford said. “It was a good one. I think we had that attitude coming out already. We were ready to go. We understood what happened, we watched the film, we learned from it, we put it behind us, and we’re excited for a new week.”

Even though QB Matthew Stafford said the chant wasn’t directed towards anyone in particular it seems as though the chant was clearly directed towards the teams detractors.

“It was just a general statement,” he said — and that today was “a really good Wednesday practice, one of the best we’ve had in a long time.”
