Junior middle weight boxer Patrick Day remains in a medically induced coma following a brutal knockout at the hands of Charles Conwell during a bout Saturday night in Chicago.
Day suffered the knockout in the 10th round after being taken down with a devastating right hook from Conwell which resulted in the back of his head bouncing off the mat.
The video below may be disturbing to some.
The 27-year-old Day never regained consciousness after the KO (despite his eyes still being open) and reportedly suffered a seizure in the ambulance on the way to the hospital to undergo emergency brain surgery. Doctors presumably put Day into a medically induced coma to reduce swelling on the brain.
Day is currently 17-4-1 in his pro career and is a former 2012 Golden Gloves Champion.
