In the wake of Saturday’s brutal and embarrassing 38-0 road loss to Wisconsin, head coach Mark Dantonio got a little testy when it came to a question about his coaching staff during the postgame presser.

The question that got people talking was when Hondo Carpenter asked the Michigan State head coach if it was a “mistake” not to change the offensive coaching staff during the offseason.

So is it a “dumbass” question because the answer is obvious?

No one should expect Dantonio to blatantly come out and throw his offensive coaching staff under the bus. However the apparent thin skinned response to Carpenter pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the subject.

Ironically too, Dantonio’s unwillingness to answer the question in a non confrontational way will be his undoing at Michigan State. If this is how he’s going to address the coaching dilemma in front of reporters, there’s not much that can be said on how he’ll address the situation behind closed doors or during the offseason. Not to mention Michigan State’s unwillingness to take a serious approach when it comes to their assistants has been a long running issue for some time now in the Dantonio era.
