A three-batter minimum for relief pitchers, a 20-second decision time for instant replay, and an increase to active roster sizes were among some of the rule changes introduced by Major League Baseball heading into the 2020 season.

Increasing the roster sizes through August 31 and the designation of the “two-way” player should be welcome additions this season. The change in challenge time from 30 seconds to 20 seconds is whatever and the return of the 15-day DL seems unnecessary.

The three-batter minimum though for pitchers is just another example of the MLB thinking they have some problem with the length of their games and commissioner Rob Manfred still seems deadset on fixing a nonexistent problem. Not to sound like some baseball traditionalist but shit like this is messing with the overall strategy that comes with the game.
