Women’s World Cup: Carli Lloyd destroying Japan as the U.S. takes a 4-1 lead

Carli Lloyd of the United States did something in the Women’s World Cup final that will probably never be matched… Scoring three goals within the first 15 minutes as the U.S. takes a 4-1 lead at the half on Japan from Vancouver.

Lloyd’s first goal came during a Megan Rapinoe corner kick in the 3rd minute.

About two minutes later, Lloyd added a second which is pretty much soccer death.

And after Lauren Holiday made it 3-0, Lloyd added insult to injury netting her third goal and setting the mark for the fastest hat trick in World Cup history.

Japan added a tally later on in the half which was the first goal given up by the United States since the opener of the Tournament but… coming from three down against that American defense is next to impossible.
