After a string of domestic violence issues, the NFL got a leg up with one potential problem in former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon who punched a woman back in 2014. That leg up was not inviting Mixon to the upcoming NFL rookie combine.

However despite Mixon being a total dirtbag for his role in the obvious, Lions GM Bob Quinn expressed his disappointment that the former Sooners back wasnโ€™t invited to the combine. Not only that, Mixon is apparently still on Detroitโ€™s draft board.

Here are Quinnโ€™s full comments via Sports Illustratedโ€™s Chris Burke:

โ€œItโ€™s really disappointing that heโ€™s not here. We come here to see the best college football players โ€ฆ so thereโ€™s 330, 40 some odd players here and for him not being here because of those issues, personally I donโ€™t think thatโ€™s real fair because we have a lot of investigation that we want to do on him and to get him in one spot for all the teams wouldโ€™ve been great.

โ€œIโ€™m not part of those decisions about how those guys are chosen, but I think it is a disappointment that guys like him โ€” and thereโ€™s a few others you can put in that category โ€” weโ€™re going to be chasing around in the months of March and April, and itโ€™s really unfair to the players, to be honest to you. The doorโ€™s open, and Iโ€™d like to be able to get a chance to sit down with the people that know Joe, or Joe, and see what the circumstances around the incident.

โ€œHe is still on our draft board, yes.โ€

On the shallow end of the pool Mixon rushed for 1,274 yards last year (6.8 yards per carry) and totaled 538 yards through the air so thereโ€™s no question the capabilities this guy is capable of on the football field.

With that in mind, lets also not forget what heโ€™s capable off the football field.

The female Mixon punched was Amelia Molitor and he avoided jail time after accepting a plea deal.
